My management team and I wanted a venue within close range of the City, with a quiet setting where we could work on our strategic visioning for the year ahead. The Lazy Tramper was ideal, had great overnight facilities, and we were able to include a short tramp in the lovely outdoors as well.......

We heard about The Lazy Tramper from some friends and as we were planning a retreat day to discuss our research work, it sounded the prefect place for our large team. As the time scheduled had to be over a weekend we wanted to be completely away from our usual work environment, enjoy the setting and relax as well as work hard. So imagine working in this enviroment where from the window inth fabulously resourced kitchen we looked into native bush, from the large covered decks we looked across the Kaimai Range, in the large lounge with huge fire place we comfortably worked during the day. This was all very conducive to highly energised thinking and physical comfort. In the evening our families joined us for a barbeque, night bush walking, music and generally catching up. We loved it and we booked straight away for the next research retreat. The Lazy Tramper is definitely a place to remember where we worked hard and had great fun, and at an affordable price. So thank you.

"I first visited The Lazy Tramper in July 2008 for an elders retreat for the Elims Christian Centre, Tauranga and was immediately impressed by the awesome surroundings and atmosphere if the place. Being in the Kaimai Ranges makes the lodge a quite and tranquil place. It has a homely feel to it and a large open fire place in the lounge/dinning area adds to this. I also brought some work colleagues to the lodge in December 2008 during the day for a Christmas lunch and they loved the place. I also organised a full weekend camp for Oxygen Youth and the lodge created the ideal environment for the youth to hang out but with lots of outdoor activities such as the waterslide, mountain biking, tramping, glow worms, volleyball etc and we added a Burma Trail in the bush one night. Lee and Mark are amazing hosts and go out of there way to make your event or camp enjoyable. It is a great place for work or other social functions. I would recommend The Lazy Tramper to anyone who wants a venue with a difference". Martin Steinmann General Manager, Te Manu Toroa and Youth Leader / Elder, Elim Christain Centre.
