Like a galaxy of shimmering stars, the Glowworms light your way as you float along the underground river. You'll also see bizarre and beautiful limestone formations, including ancient stalactites, stalagmites and natural sculptures.

Adrenalin-junkies can challenge themselves to one of the many caving adventures on offer at the Waitomo Caves. Go white-water rafting along an underground river (called 'Black Water Rafting') - it's a real thrill. Other adventures include abseiling into the massive Lost World chasm and rock climbing in subterranean cave structures. Not for the claustrophobic!
